Games and game design in particular have offered up a lot of principles to the development of great interactive games that have set benchmarks for design and user experience. This has pushed games into being able to tell complex stories and create emotions while playing this level of interaction and emotional connection is however lacking with apps in the financial services space and has led to the apps built here being more akin to tools with buttons to be mashed. As a result of this most financial services apps are stuck looking the same, offering the same and only receiving large download attention when the app launches, the apps fails to be an incentive to open accounts (for non-account holders) and for the user to try more financial services from this provider. The solution to this problem lies with game design principles being adopted outside game design.
