Yu opens relationship centres to serve its customers base Peter Nalika
Yu, the mobile phone brand of Essar Telecom Kenya limited, in an effort to get closer to their customers, today launched 27 relationship centres country wide to serve their subscribers. Permanent Secretary Ministry of Information, Dr Bitange Ndemo presided the ceremony when he opened one of the centres in Parklands, Highridge Shopping Centre, Nairobi where the customers are expected to have a huge brand experience through an extensive range of products and services and also have a chance to give feedback.
Speaking during the launch of this relationship centre, Dr Ndemo commended Yu's efforts in enabling more people to use telecommunication services. "This is an important move taken by Yu because in a way it engages more Kenyans in the telecommunication systems,” Dr Ndemo said. This will facilitate talks and contact at a more personal level between the company and its customers compared to other the other service providers who have invested on call centres.
The PS said the government is ready to give a hand especially when more and more of these centres are established in the rural areas, which will help will help in the spread and growth of digital villages.
Yu has over 1.6 million customers in Kenya, to maintain this customer base the company will increase this centres from 27 to 40 by the end of the year.
According to Mr Atul Chaturvedi, Yu, Country Manager the company is responding to the needs of the customers by having company customer experience centers closer and more accessible, particularly for the parts of the country, outside Nairobi. These centres will boost product availability and improve customer experience.
