Western Union and Google have launched a new service that will see bloggers and other web content publishers in Kenya, Uganda and Ghana receive payment through the Western Union network. Dubbed Quick Cash, the service is meant to make it easy for web content publishers to receive payments for their Google AdSense programme.

Google AdSense helps content publishers grow their online business by helping them with monetization. AdSense is a programme that enables publishers to display relevant ads on their websites and earn revenue. "We're excited to announce the launch of Western Union Quick Cash(r) payments for Google AdSense in three countries in Africa, If you're a Google AdSense publisher, you can now select Western Union Quick Cash payments in Kenya, Ghana and Uganda," a Western Union Official said.

With the Western Union Quick Cash, payments will reach publishers faster than cheques which takes longer to reach recipients and they also have to wait longer for them to clear. Payments will continue to follow the normal payment schedule and will be available for pickup in local currency at local Western Union agents the day after they're issued.
