Customers of integrated communications company Safaricom are set to enjoy discounted call rates for the next two months following the launch, today, of a special promotion.
Dubbed Bamba Na Bob, the promotion meant to reward Safaricom’s over 17 million loyal customers, allows PrePay customers to pay Sh1 per minute for all calls made within the network from 10 p.m. to 10 a.m. daily. It runs from today (May 20, 2011) to July 20, 2011.
The Bamba Na Bob promotion will see Safaricom PrePay subscribers make savings of up to 67%, for 12 hours every day over the next two months. All individual PrePay customers are eligible. To enrol, a subscriber will simply dial *555# for free.

“In this increasingly competitive environment, Safaricom will continue to ensure that all strategic action is aligned with customer needs and their quest for real value. We shall actively seek opportunities to reward our customers and tell them how deeply we appreciate their choosing Safaricom as their preferred service provider,” Safaricom CEO, Bob Collymore said during the launch.

To kick off the promotion, Safaricom in partnership with Rift Valley Railways (RVR) will offer all train commuters riding on commuter-trains within Nairobi, a train ride for only Ksh. 1/-, all day today, May 20, 2011. Mr Collymore flagged off the Bamba Na Bob train at 7:30 a.m. at CBD Railway Station.

“The partnership supports RVR’s continuous efforts to increasingly put the customer at the centre of the company’s strategy. We intend to keep using innovative products to reward customers, including introducing loyalty programs for our Reli Card holders,” RVR CEO Brown Ondego noted.
