BlackBerry has announced that the BlackBerry® App World™ 3.0 is now available for BlackBerry smartphone users. With this app, users can personalize their BlackBerry smartphone, find the hottest games and entertainment and get apps to stay connected with the people who matter.

Among the new features of BlackBerry App World include a sleek new design with rotating spotlight banners on the home screen, new channels for apps, games and themes. The company has introduced a ‘My Account’ feature that makes managing BBID and payment options easy with direct access to all account information from the home screen.

The new ‘My World’ feature gives users a streamlined view of their apps and status, and users can now easily manage their subscription content and services by use of push technology that automatically notifies them when new updates or subscription renewals are due.

New features also include an app social sharing feature that allows users to share apps from the app details screen through BBM, Facebook, Twitter, email and SMS. In addition, the app detail screen has evolved. Users can now get a quick summary, check out reviews and star ratings, take a look at screen shots, and more.

There are more search options features enabling users to quickly find apps. The search bar now appears on the storefront home screen and search results are presented across Channels as well as ‘My World’.  Search Bars are also within each Channel and users have the ability to filter by App Name, Price, Rating, Newest, Best Match, or Popularity.

BlackBerry smartphone users running BlackBerry OS 5.0+ will see on-device upgrade notifications appear in the coming days.
