Pomp and colour as CIO East Africa turns one Yusuf Wangara
June 11th 2010 saw CIO East Africa celebrate its 1st anniversary in style and glamour. The magazine organized a golf tournament at the Windsor Country and Golf Club that saw different industry players coming on board to tee off.
The event—sponsored by Safaricom, Seven Seas Technologies and AccessKenya Group—drew a lot of admiration from the participants. Safaricom’s Senior Manager, Corporate Sales, Evans Nyagah, said Safaricom was proud to have partnered with CIO East Africa to ensure the event was a success and assured the magazine of continued support.
The climax of the event was the awarding of prizes to winners of the tournament as well as a raffle draw that saw lucky participants walk away with various prizes. Among the winners was Kathleen Kihanya, CEO, 24 Hour Media.
The tournament, which will be organized annually, will target golfers from various East African companies and eventually the whole continent as the magazine spreads its wings. CIO East Africa Editorial Director Harry Hare said the company was working hard to deliver the best services to their clients both regionally and internationally.
