Scenes from las year's BarCamp
Nairobi's annual BarCamp is back. The 2011 Nairobi Barcamp takes place coming Saturday, the 15th of October and Sunday 16th October at iHub, Nailab and m:lab, all located at Bishop Magua centre along Ngong road. Registration is currently ongoing at the BarCamp website. This year's sponsors include Google.
BarCamp brings together the Nairobi tech scene every year in an informal physical gathering with various presentations taking place. The event is part of the Skunkworks mailing list, an informal email subscription group that discusses various ICT issues and themes within Kenya. BarCamp has no formal program, however , some of the speakers will include Mike Pedersen of Plus People who will be presenting on PesaPI, the M-PESA Application Programming Interface.
The list and BarCamp are run and maintain by various volunteer individuals and corporates. Phares Kaboro has been behind the logistics of the list and the BarCamp while Wananchi Group have been hosting the mailing list for a while now.
