Crescent Tech focuses on next generation servers CIO East Africa Writer
Many organizations in East Africa, Kenya included have embraced IT technology, and as they expand while client demand for efficient service delivery increases, IT managers start to look for options that will give them increased flexibility and cost savings that can be delivered through server virtualizations.
Virtualization helps organization’s to run multiple independent virtual operating systems on a single physical computer. It is a way of maximizing physical resources to maximize their investments in hardware. But with increased expansions, comes the problem of backup and recovery. In some environments, virtual server backup still places a performance load on physical servers. The question therefore would be what would happen if the legacy server died?
In fact virtual server specific backup products have emerged creating additional load for IT staff which they are required to learn and manage. And with expansion in IT usage, many organizations will start experiencing virtual machine sprawls as the creation and movement of virtual machines become simple. This could leave data unprotected and would create challenges for IT staff as they attempt to manage the growth of virtual environments while maintaining recovery time and point objectives.
Crescent Tech in partnership with HP Will hold a breakfast meeting on 20th July 2011, at the Serena Hotel for IT managers and Chief Technical managers in order to discuss the next generation of server usage and storage with the power of convergence. Participants will gain insights into how to maximize their application performance in virtual environments, how to reduce complexity and IT resources associated with virtual server protection, and maximizing efficiency of storage resources and how to implement advanced protection for mission critical applications.
