Barclays Bank unveils Business Club calendar Ellen Magembe

Barclays Bank of Kenya unveiled the business club destinations and events for 2011. The Calendar was officially launched at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) during a seminar sponsored by the bank for small business owners.

Members of the business club will have a choice of seven destinations to choose from as they map their course for the year.

The destinations identified include Asia, the United Kingdom and the USA. The first trip is destined for Las Vegas Nevada, and it will mainly cater to the construction industry.

Barclays Managing Director, Adan Mohamed said that the bank will monitor progress and support  their clients in their journeys hoping that one day they will become key players in the various economies.

“We leverage Barclays scale and global reach to create unique growth opportunities for our customers. By exploring and encouraging unique international SME activities, that broaden the reach of small business owners, we hope to add value and stimulate the local Kenyan economy,” said Adan Mohamed.

“As a result of the Barclays Business class offerings, there has been remarkable improvement in our customers’ business growth,” he added. The trips have gone a long way in adding value to the SME customer segment which is a key driver of accelerating Kenya’s economic development.

In addition to the international events, Barclays has organized local networking events one in Mombasa and Samburu as well as the 4th Annual Business Club Members Trade Fair scheduled for Nairobi in June.
