October 02, 2010 0 Comments

Last week the IT fraternity in East Africa lost one of its luminaries in the name of Andrew Dachi. The 48-year Dachi moved to Botswana more than ten years ago where he established himself as one of the country’s top IT consultants. While in Tanzania, Dachi will be remembered mostly when he did his stint at the Tanzania Commission for Science and Technology (COSTECH) a parastatal organization with the responsibility of co-ordinating and promoting research and technology development activities in the country.
Those who interacted with him remember him as selfless and a great teacher who encouraged the young professionals under his wings to aspire for greater things. Based out of Francistown, Botswana, Dachi run ISA Consulting, an IT security audit and security firm, ISA Consulting, which offers innovative security products for both individuals and corporate.

Information on Dachi’s demise started appearing in the blogoshere on Thursday but the cause of death has not been clear yet. The Editor, Management and staff of CIO East Africa commiserate with the family, friends and the entire IT fraternity for this untimely loss.
