APC by Schneider Electric, has announced the launch of service models that will further improve manageability, availability and performance of sensitive electronic, network, communications, and industrial equipment.
The East African market is in dire need of a supplier who can provide a total solution to minimise the risk of downtime, says Jonathan Duncan, director for the Central and North East Africa region at APC by Schneider Electric.
"With the cost of downtime running into millions of dollars, in both direct and indirect costs, we have recognised the requirement for a supplier who is willing to step in and provide an end-to-end solution to organisations, which guarantees an always-on infrastructure," says Duncan.

As a result, APC has made available a direct service model for three-phase products. The solution provides highly trained field service engineers (FSEs), who will assess power and cooling needs. "Potential problems will be identified and solutions will be devised for an organisation's specific environment, which will minimise the risk of downtime," he says.

Additionally, by partnering with APC, organisations have full access to factory-certified parts, engineering revisions and firmware upgrades that are not available from third-party service providers.

APC by Schneider Electric offers various service contracts during and after the factory warranty, that are tailored to suit the individual requirements of organisations. These include service level agreements with varying response times, preventative maintenance service, and 24x7 coverage.

Preventive maintenance service is performed by certified FSEs and includes a visual inspection and cleaning, environmental and electronic inspections and functional testing to ensure the system is operating at peak performance while identifying issues that may cause future problems.

"As an additional service to customers, should our customer care centre assess a single phase APC unit as faulty or unfixable, we will deliver a replacement unit to the customer's premises," says Duncan.
