AITEC announces 2011 Banking and Mobile Money conference CIO Staff Writer
The fifth annual AITEC Banking & Mobile Money COMESA Conference has been set for Nairobi in 2-3 March, 2011, at the Kenya International Conference Centre. The event, themed as “Strategies for a new era of financial integration” will provide a valuable educational forum for the financial services sector, updating CXOs and IS managers on latest international developments in payment technologies, best practices in IT project deployment, and latest trends in customer service delivery.
The exhibition will be a live laboratory platform to demonstrate world class banking services powered by latest payment technologies. It will provide a showcase for technology manufacturers and vendors to demonstrate their latest products and systems to enhance East Africa’s rapidly growing financial services sector.
Among the key sponsors are Internet Solutions (IS), a leading supplier of communication systems for corporate users. Announcing his company’s sponsorship of the event, Loren Bosch, Sales Director, said: “The financial services sector is an important target market for IS and through our participation at this event we will be able to network with all our existing clients in the sector – as well as attract new clients. The 2010 Banking & Mobile conference attracted close to 500 delegates and had over 100 expert speakers. Added to these were over 500 exhibition visitors, creating an event that had a major impact in the market, Said Sean Moroney, AITEC chairman. Already, 30 top speakers have been confirmed for the conference programme.
The East African Business Council and the COMESA Business Council are supporting the event as a platform to promote effective financial services to support the accelerating business drive across the region.
