More than 370,000 customers in the world use Oracle intergrated business software and hardware systems. As a huge player in the IT landscape, Oracle staged a product strategy review at Serena Hotel, Nairobi. They showcased various improved solutions they have had for the market. As a recognised database solutions developer, Oracle also has learning facility, financial systems among others.
Oracle applications are built according to what the customer needs to know and do, who can help achieve this and how it can be done. This is a new innovation set standard. This is a driving force and opportunity to use standard based technology to build applications. These applications are re-engineered to work with both current and future systems.
Kenyan customers had a chance to visit various stands. For instance, the Oracle support centre which offered comprehensive maintenance and problem resolution for the wide range of oracle products, through focusing personalized proactive support capabilities for all Oracle systems and components.
Some of the products; Oracle on Demand, which is one of the suites that delivers software and hardware to end users and manages these Infrasracture thereby helping businesses to focus on their core activities. In education, Oracle University failitates flexible, quality instructions to students virtually on Oracle products. Lastly, Oracle consulting combines integrated business systems that put customers’ business data to work.
Kenya Airways IT Director Ken Kinyanjui, gave an insight on how reliable Oracle has been to the airline. The company has been using Oracle solutions for 3 years. Kenya Airways has used to run its finance, supply chain, assest mngt, HR & payroll systems.
The event also created a forum for current and potential customers of Oracle to seek clarification on very important issuses concerning pricing, lincessing and user support. Customers were provided with importance advice on lincessing and how best to optimise the peformance of their Oracle business systems.
The event was an outreach to various SMEs in the region as a demonstration of the wide range of business solutions available for comparatively low costs. In creating awareness of its products through such events, Oracle is bound to increase its clients across the region.
