Nakumatt customers can now buy Orange airtime at the tills in denominations varying from Kshs 100 to Kshs 1000.The telecommunications service provider, Orange yesterday entered into a strategic partnership with Nakumatt Holdings that will see Orange airtime sold at their supermarkets outlets.

During the signing ceremony, Telkom Kenya Deputy CEO Jane Karuku, who was flanked by his Nakumatt Holdings Corporate and Legal Affairs Manager, Raman Subramanian said the partnership is part of the company's strategy to enhance its airtime distribution network and bring services closer to the people.
“Due to the wide spread of Nakumatt sores in the country, it will be efficient for Orange customers to buy airtime from them,” says Jane Karuku. This is part of their company’s strategy to enhance airtime distribution and bring their services closer to the customers.
Orange recently announced that it has set aside over Kshs 100 million to refurbish and open new shops across the country as part of its plan to enhance its distribution network.
According to Raman Subramanian, the partnership is consistent with the supermarkets brand promise, ‘You Need It, You’ve Got It’. The retail chain has recently completed a major IT systems upgrade that will allow shoppers to pay for their utility and related bills at the tills of its 28 branches.
“The partnership with Orange will help optimize the new robust and dynamic IT infrastructure that makes it possible for mobile operators’ airtime vouchers and virtual products including cash withdrawals,” said Mr. Subramanian.

Nakumatt continuous quest to improve or customers’ lifestyles, while exploring avenues to add value and enhance convenience to our customers, the company welcomes Orange on board. “We trust that in time they will expand their offerings sold at our branches, from airtime to their internet modems and other products,” says Atul Shah, MD, Nakumatt Holdings.
