Multichoice Kenya has partnered with Uchumi Supermarkets to introduce an electronic payment system to Dstv subscribers which has enhanced the ease of payment of DStv subscription. The partnership commences with eight branches initially, and will soon be available at all branches across the country.

Mr Stephen Isaboke, Multichoice Kenya General Manager, told journalists in Uchumi Hyper Langata that the use of Uchumi Dstv payment platform will increase collection and minimized traffic at their corporate offices. He expressed the hope that more subscribers would use the facility to pay their monthly subscription, enabling the company to focus on enriching customer care and satisfaction.

“While we are getting reports from many subscribers about the convenience of paying their bills using their phones, we still have some subscribers who are yet to catch up with this amazing technology,” said Mr. Isaboke.

This service was introduced to provide ease and convenience to Dstv subscribers, as well as increased access that fits their locations. Subscribers will be able to make their payments in local currency at specifically assigned tills at their preferred Uchumi branches countrywide. Following payments, their services will be automatically reconnected provided their decoders are on.

Isaboke added that for Multichoice Kenya, Uchumi was an ideal partner for deepening the payment options available to our subscribers, due to the synergies between their customer profiles and business networks.

Speaking at the launch, Uchumi CEO Jonathan Ciano applauded the partnership saying, “Uchumi is proud to be associated with Dstv and we are positive that this will enhance the opportunity to offer value to our customers. As we extend our footprint across the country, we hope to increase our point of service to both Dstv and Uchumi customers.”

Meanwhile, Dstv is in partnership with various mobile and financial service providers and other alternative payment platforms, effectively ensuring that their presence in the country is truly national.

Multichoice continues to invest in innovative cutting edge technology, develop satellite infrastructure, digital technology and new channels with focus ultimately to expand the subscribers experience and deliver exceptional customer service and satisfaction.

The service will be available Capital Centre, Sarit Centre, Langata Hyper, Ngong road, Buruburu, Jipange and City Square Meru branches.
