Isaack Hassan nominated for CIO 100 Leadership awards Dennis Mbuvi

Recently appointed Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chairman, Ahmed Isaack Hassan has been nominated for this year's CIO 100 Leadership Award. The award honours and recognises individuals who have gone beyond great odds to champion for the use of information technology in service delivery thus achieving great impact in the process. Hassan has been championing the use of IT in voter registration and tallying processes in Kenya to achieve high accuracy, transparency and efficiency.
Hassan received the award on Wednesday evening at an award gala held at the Safari Park Hotel. The awards are held annually by CIO East Africa and recognise firms that use ICT in an innovative manner to deliver business value. This years awards ceremony also marked the peak of a successful two day symposium that attracted over 200 paying delegates from East Africa and saw project presentations from both the private and public sector.
Josephat Karanja, Head Of Infrastructure at the Kenya Education Network ( KENET) was named CIO of the year after his firm emerged top for its project that is connecting learning and research institutions all over Kenya. The award was sponsored by SAP.
