Undersea cable landing now poses challenges Zachary Ochieng

The high expectations engendered by the landing of the fibre optic cables are slowly dwindling following the realisation that the cost of bandwidth may not come down any time soon, not to mention the fact that end users are yet to experience high speed connectivity. It now turns out that despite the fanfare that greeted the landing of the fibre optic cables, one of which went live in July, fears now abound that the country might not be ready to tap into the opportunities presented by the high speed and cheaper Internet.
